Now, what is Pecha Kucha again?
It is a “quick-presentation” format, started in a small office in Tokyo.
Described as a “the mix of kindergarten show-and-tell, open-mike night and happy hour” Pecha Kucha is a fun social event where one can take the stage and present 20 images at 20 seconds per image.

After the success of Volume:1 (see: www.point8.org/pecha-kucha for photos etc.), we are preparing for the Volume:2.
Now is your chance to be a presenter at the event on January 12th 2009.
For more info, guidelines etc. please visit www.point8.org/pecha-kucha
We will be updating you with more info about how to submit your entries, the submission requirements etc.
Please note: Even though we would like to accommodate everyone who wants to present, the time constraints limit us to a maximum of 20 presentations. A panel made up of artists, designers, and architects from point8 will be selecting the 20 presenters. The selections will be based on the quality of the entries and the originality of the theme/ideas submitted. We would also be trying to ensure that the widest range/variety of media and people are represented on each PK Night.
The Panel for Vol. 2 consists of:
Gerry Derksen, Designer, Faculty at Winthrop Univ.
Faron Franks, Architect, Charlotte.
Michael Gayk, Artist, Faculty at York Tech.
Barbara Schreiber, Artist, Charlotte.
* The Team: Pecha Kucha Nights would be organized by point8 forum, with help and support from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Charlotte, and the Winthrop University Galleries. [Pecha KuchaTM is devised and shared by Klein Dytham Architecture, Tokyo]
